A Guide to | Festivals

I'm a little late to the party with the themed post here, but hey, I'm pregnant, you can let me off right?

Now I wouldn't call myself a festival pro (I've only ever been to Leeds Festival twice). Pete is a massive lover of festivals, and after vowing I'd never go to one (ever!) I decided to see what the big fuss was and made the decision to go to Leeds in 2012 with him. Anything that could go wrong, went wrong, but in the end I had an amazing time and went back again last year. I'm pretty upset I'm missing out on all the festivals this year, but Baby W will definitely be worth it!

Anyway, here's my survival guide:

  1. Knee high wellies with a decent grip on the bottom are always the best bet in England. The first time I went, I made the mistake of wearing my ankle Jeffrey Campbell wellies and while they looked really cute, they did no good for keeping my grip, I was slipping and sliding everywhere in the mud and ended up wearing my trusty Docs the rest of the time. Thank god the weather wasn't that bad!
  2. Hand sanitiser is your best friend, always take hand sanitiser, everywhere. You will get very dirty.
  3. Take a life time supply of tissues. The trip to the toilets are never fun, especially when you're basically squatting over a hole so you really don't want to forget your tissues!
  4. Wear shorts rather than jeans, you will dry off much faster if it pisses down - which it probably will! Besides, who doesn't love wearing shorts and knee high socks? (Just me?)
  5. Take sun block, even though it will probably rain, you don't want to ruin your weekend by getting burnt in the very rare case the sun will shine! Remember you're outside all day.
  6. A waterproof mac is a must, okay you will look ridiculous, but hey, you're at a festival, you're allowed to look silly.
  7. Don't camp near a fence or a wall. People piss up fences and walls, would you really want to wake up to someone urinating all up in your living space?
  8. Wear dark nail polish! It will hide the mud that gets up your nails. I fell in the mud numerous times last year and had to wash my hair 3/4 times when I got home.
  9. Dry shampoo and makeup wipes will be your bff, seriously.
  10. Drink as much cider as you can handle, there's not much opportunity to start drinking at 8am right through the day and the night!
Have you been to any festivals yet this year?

OOTD | Bump Edition 31 Weeks

It's been a while since I banged out a band t-shirt! Back in April, I went to Leeds with my good friend to watch my favourite band play my favourite album in full. Funeral for a Friend played Hours and my god it was fantastic! I couldn't resist buying this Roses for the Dead t-shirt while I was there - yes I was one of THOSE people who bought merch at a gig.

I absolutely love how simple the front detail is with the rose and lyrics with Funeral for a Friend splashed across the back.

It's so easy to fall into the t-shirt and skinny jeans trap, so instead, I paired this with my maternity pencil skirt from ASOS.

Pete and I spent the day shopping and this outfit was perfect for dashing in and out of shops in the rain. First stop was Almost Famous for lunch. Their chilli cheese fries are out of this world. The staff in there are amazing as well, the girl who serves us told me to make sure I ordered my burger well cooked as they come pink (due to bump) which just seemed really thoughtful.  Pete and I both ordered the Triple Nom which is a double cheeseburger, topped with pulled pork, BBQ sauce and slaw with chilli cheese fries to share.  I must admit, this almost defeated me and I was full to the brim afterwards but it was worth it.  I definitely recommend it if you're in Liverpool/ Manchester.

Here's Pete and I posing in the mirror before we headed out! Perfect date day. Pete treated me to lunch, bought me some pretty new dresses, pyjamas for my hospital visit (eek) and the most important, some brand new Mac lipstick.

How did you spend your Saturday?

Personal | Girl Behind the Blog

I recently came across Jess at Dungarees and Donuts and saw she'd done a lovely little post with 20 facts about herself, which inspired me to do my own.

  1. The name Jegz came from the word jeggings. Calling myself  "Jeggins" started as a joke..
  2. Today, I am exactly 30 weeks pregnant - 10 weeks to go and counting.
  3. If I could live off one food for the rest of my life, it would be Mini Cheddars.
  4. I hate clowns - my family fully take advantage of this and post photos on my Facebook wall.
  5. Shoes are my downfall, especially Jeffrey Campbells. I own a massive 14 pairs of JCs.
  6. I love musicals.
  7. I will never leave the house without my eyebrows drawn on or without mascara.
  8. My favourite colour is green.
  9. I swear a lot.
  10. I own over 100 nail varnishes.
  11. Winter is my favourite season.
  12. I live in my pyjamas.
  13. I'm supposed to wear glasses, but I don't.
  14. Darren Shan is my favourite author - yes, he writes kids books.
  15. Tom Fletcher is the love of my life (sorry Pete).
  16. I have a really bad sweet tooth.
  17. I'm extremely clumsy. My friend says I'm "jaggerdy."
  18. I love mugs - the bigger the better.
  19. Christmas is my favourite holiday.
  20. I hate it when things don't go my way as planned.

Life Lately | June

So I've been pretty rubbish at blogging lately. Life has been so busy, Peter and I have just bought our first house together, it's all very exciting! We took on a huge challenge with the house, ripping out bathrooms, kitchens, double doors, plastering, you name it, we did it.

Today was the big day! We finally moved and my god it's been exhausting. Being 7 months pregnant and packing up your life is tiring business. I wouldn't suggest it. We haven't finished unpacking but I wanted to share a few snaps of our lovely new house because I'm so excited to be here!

Before
After

We've still got a lot of decorating to do, and the dining room to sort out (we have a through room eep). Our curtains aren't up yet, and neither is our mirror, but compared to what it looked like two weeks ago, it's pretty much heaven!

What do you think of our little transformation?

OOTD | Bump Edition 28 Weeks

Dress: ASOS // Kimono: Boohoo // Earrings & Necklace: New Look // Bag: Primark // Shoes: eBay

Life lately has meant putting blogging on hold for a while. I vowed at the start of the year to be more blog active, however, with being pregnant, starting a new job and moving house, you can probably imagine how hectic things have been for me!

I'm back this week with a little outfit post. During my pregnancy, I have moped about the lack of pretty pastel clothes until ASOS came to my rescue with this adorable little number. After seeing it on their Instagram account, I knew it had to be mine!

I'm not normally a lover of pastels but this Spring/ Summer I've been swooning over them, so when I saw this kimono on Boohoo, I NEEDED it.

I am most definitely going to be rocking this outfit many a time during the rest of my pregnancy (not long to go now!) given the sun stays out, but who can predict with the lovely British weather we're so accustomed to?

Are you loving pastels just like me?

I only noticed when typing this post up there were a few pictures I wanted to post here but haven't and instead have two duplicates. Blame the baby brain, seriously, I'm terrible!

If you follow me on Instagram, you'll see that I'm taking part in #100happydays which is a great little thing to be part of, it constantly makes me think to take a picture of something that has made me happy that day, and when I'm having a bad day I consciously find something to cheer me up for this!

What have you been up to lately?

OOTD | Bump Edition 25 Weeks

Dress: New Look // Sunglasses: Primark // Sandals: Primark // Flower Crown: River Island // Necklace: eBay // Bag: eBay

So the sun was out at the weekend, so after a day of carpet shopping, baby shopping and kitchen designing (as well as a cheeky McDonalds) I took the opportunity to snap some outfit photos in my mum and dad's back garden.

I've been so busy the past few weeks with my new job and sorting out the house that I just haven't had time to blog, or even when I have had time after work, I've been too tired to bother. It's hard work this pregnancy lark!

I wanted to show off my maternity dress which is from New Look. It was in the sale quite a few weeks ago (I bought it before I had a bump) but you can still find it on here. My bump looks really big in it, but it's just so comfy and still flattering! I love New Look for clothes, so it made me happy to discover their maternity range. I really like what I wore on Saturday, especially since I get extremely grumpy when it comes to maternity clothes!

What are you wearing this summer?
